That doesn’t seem right to me. It’s really been a whole month since I posted anything? At all? And it’s the beginning of the season, even. Man, Fritz is right, it’s like I don’t even have a blog anymore.

Anyway, as you may know, I’ve been having fun hanging with my like-minded Cardinals peeps in New York. Just imagine the change in my life:

Scene: Circa 2005-6, my apartment

Me: You can have a beer, but you have to use my MIKE SHANNON BOTTLE OPENER!

(And I whip out the bottle opener which features Mike Shannon’s call of Mark McGwire’s 70th.)

My roommate, or whoever: Oh jesus. That again?

Now contrast that with:

Scene: Circa last night at Deweys

Me: Well, if you want another beer, then you’re going to have to use THIS BOTTLE OPENER to open it!

(And I whip out the bottle opener which plays Mike Shannon’s calls of the end of the NLCS and World Series.)

Everyone at my table: YEEEEEAAAAAA!!!!!

(And they all lean in to hear Mike’s call better.)
