I told someone last week I’d officially quit blogging, and yet here I am. I’m nothing if not inconsistent, I guess.
So: everyone enjoying the baseball season? I’m in the unfamiliar situation as follows:
- The Cardinals are pretty bad.
- I’m not bothered by this in the slightest.
I never thought winning the World Series would have this effect on me, but it really has. The other day I was thinking about how stressed I used to get during regular season games. Just doesn’t happen anymore. That’s not to say I’ve lost interest: I still watch the Cards nearly every night. But Adam Kennedy’s lack of production, and our pitching woes – eh. None of it really fazes me anymore. Practically every day I say something along the lines of “Eh who cares – we won the world series.” For the first time in years, I just watch the cardinals because I like baseball, not because I really care whether they win or not.
I’m thinking that this attitude is going to go away after this season, but I might as well enjoy it while it lasts, I suppose. Imagine liking a game even when your team loses! Huh.
Anyway, that’s not really why I haven’t been blogging. I actually think about blogging a lot these days. But most of the time I just wonder how on earth did I have the time for that, what with work and friends and all? And then I decided that my lame job (boo work!) shouldn’t be keeping me from what’s really important: namely, posting stupid baseball thoughts over the Internet.

Welcome back!
We’re in the opposite situation, I guess–you’re unconcerned with the Cards’ woes because they won the World Series. I’m unconcerned with the Astros’ woes because I’ve accepted that they suck.
Isn’t is nice to watch games without stress?
